About us…The idea is:there are many groups and organizations working for the greater good,and many individuals who would like to help. Unfortunately,they both often have a limited network to tell others or find out about events.By allowing groups and organizations to post events by state,and notifying individuals by Twitter,text message or email,we hope to be able to create a network of positive actions and people power. Also,a directory of groups and organizations throughout the country will allow for increased commitment and collaboration among collective interests and individuals.
Ideally,we hope that different groups,organizations,and individuals will come out in support of each other. Teachers unions supporting environmentalists,social justice and human rights activists being there for labor unions,anti-war protesters for civil liberties defenders,LGBT rights advocates and financial reformists,non-affiliated individuals and events they are supportive of,and vice-versa,etc,etc,etc. It is essential to the furthering of both single events and great causes that we all support one another toward a shared direction,and we intend S.T.A.N.D. to empower those who desire to do so.
